Vaccinations: Who's Opinion Do You Trust? Participate in a Measles Study

Are vaccines safe? Why does my child have to get so many? What’s in vaccines? How do they work? What’s herd immunity? Why does my child need to get vaccinated against a disease that I’ve never heard of?

Parents have a lot of questions about childhood vaccination and want to get the facts straight so they can make the right decision for their families. There’s a lot information on the internet about childhood vaccination, but figuring out what is fact and what is opinion can be difficult. And depending on the information source, parents may be concerned that they’re being manipulated into making decisions to further a government agenda or line the pockets of pharmaceutical company executives. However, parents have valid concerns about vaccine safety (“How will vaccines affect my child’s health and development?”) and can feel pushed into vaccination their children by doctors or schools even if they’re uncertain.

Little is known about how parents who have concerns about vaccine safety make decisions about whether or not to vaccinate their children. RTI International, a non-profit research organization based in North Carolina (www.rti.org), is funding and conducting a small project to fill this knowledge gap. Through this study, we’ll learn more about how parents make decisions about childhood vaccination, where they look for answers to their questions about childhood vaccination, and whose opinions they trust. By learning more about these issues, the public health community can take steps to improve the vaccine safety information that’s available.

We are interested in talking to you if:

• you’re just now thinking about whether to vaccinate your child,
• you already have an exemption or launched a delayed vaccine schedule, or
• you’ve changed your opinion about childhood vaccination since the recent measles outbreak.

It only required several hours of time out of my morning, and only a few minutes of that was hands on! I was able to do chores while waiting for each sample to be collected, which worked out perfectly. Each sample has a time frame specified for the ideal time to collect a sample for, and then you simply record the time you started and stopped collecting the sample. I used a timer on my phone to ensure I collected each sample for the ideal amount of time.

An important aspect of the testing process with Home Air Check to keep in mind is that it is test sensitive. From the time the product arrives at your doorstep, you will have about two weeks to complete the test and mail it back to Home Air Check for analysis. It may be a little work to create the ideal testing conditions as well, to make sure that the test results aren't affected by temporary changes in your household's air quality, as can be the case with cooking occurring in your home. I personally recommend exploiting the excuse to eat take out or dine out with your family, and conducting the test the following morning.

Once you have completed the testing process, all you have to do is package the kit products back into the box to safely make their way back to Home Air Check. Nurse in Style with the Momzelle Nursing Top Hoodie (Review)

When I first heard about Momzelle in 2012, I knew this was something to get excited about, and I absolutely loved the Momzelle Criss Cross Nursing Tank I reviewed for them. It didn't take long for me to realize that Momzelle products had styles that were extremely flattering, keep their shape, and stand the test of time. Momzelle quickly became one of my go-to brands, and one of the few brands I recommend to everyone I know. The Rosemary Nursing Top I later purchased became one of my wardrobe favorites.

It's lightweight, and very breathable, perfect for those breezy spring and summer days where you need another layer!

For review, I received the Momzelle Nursing Top Hoodie in navy blue. I prefer to wear my clothes very fitted, so I ordered a size down from the Momzelle sizing chart. Even ordering a size down, I was impressed with the length of the sleeves. Like all Momzelle garments, the fabric is soft and stretchy, but unlike a lot of maternity and nursing apparel, it does not lose its shape throughout the day or over time! As you can see in the pictures where I am modeling my Momzelle Nursing Top Hoodie, the forgiving fabric is even accommodating of my growing baby bump! The fabric has been comfortable throughout my pregnancy so far, even though my skin has grown increasingly sensitive and a lot of my other wardrobe favorites have become to itchy for me to wear. I love how flattering the Momzelle Nursing Top Hoodie is, and have happily walked out the door for errands or a day out with Little E without feeling underdressed. It has been the perfect garment for quickly and discreetly nursing my toddler wherever we are! This wardrobe staple is so comfortable, I can't wait to order another in black when they restock.
